We are very honored and proud that Susanne and John Stephenson have work in the show "Clay as Soft Power". The exhibition examines the transformation of the postwar relationship between America and Japan through ceramics. With this show, we are inspired anew by John and Susanne's role in the global ceramics community, as well as the rich role art and culture play in worldwide politics.

Sign up for a slot to join us on a docent-led tour at UMMA to see this incredible show, spanning from ancient Shigaraki pots to contemporary ceramic works inspired by ancient Japanese forms and processes. We will be joined on our tour by Susanne Stephenson.

Space is limited to 15.
